We are diagnosed with DID. We were physically, verbally, emotionally, and sexually abused as a child and throughout our life. We have many parts that developed from dissociating in order to survive the atrocities we were forced to endure at the hands of our sadistic psychopath mother. We are starting to remember our experiences and as we do we learn of parts that hold these experiences. Even though it is very triggering to remember we are learning that in unearthing our past we are freeing ourself to live free of these burdens as an adult.
Growing up I was very very very very shy. Had little to no self-esteem. I had huge anxiety and never knew or understood why. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD 3 years ago and began recovering memories of abuse a year ago. It has been a hard and rocky road. I have benefited greatly from on-line communities but wish I was not so scared to reach out for support in 3d. Maybe in time this will come.
