I have had bipolar I since age 15. A lot of times I still go through a lot of struggles. I see a therapist and a Doctor and take meds for my illness.
For me it’s an ongoing process of therapy. I haven’t been in trouble with the law yet over my highs and hope not to ever. I have been through family not wanting to support my illness and say just let her die when I’ve had my major suicide attempts and some family that has supported me since I have gotten the illness at age 15.
But I’m living proof that getting the help you need is what keeps me alive. I have been through the paranoid stages of really bizarre things. I try to take my illness one day at a time. I have a wonderful husband, it’s my second marriage, that supports my illness and helps me also through the bad times. Some people can function better that have bipolar then others, me on the other hand I have a lot of struggles with mine. But there are people out there to listen and help and support you. And God bless all with mental illnesses, just keep doing what you have to keep yourself well. Find the help and the supporters!
