My name is Eric. I live with severe depression, it has been with me my whole life. The genetics have been with me but it wasn’t easy the way I grew up especially with my grade school. I was constantly being bullied and beaten up severely for my weight, intelligence (Traumatic Brain Injury as an infant) and any weird quirk I had during that time. That’s where I learned to repress my depression and shut down in hard times. I also was abused as a child as well, which didn’t help either. There were times it hurt repressing old feelings: I unintentionally shut people out and scared people with suicidal attempts. But I learned to how to cope with different techniques and with the right help. I’m looking to work with children as a teacher with my two years in human services. I also am helping others on my Facebook Mental Illness Awareness Page.
