Hi I’m David and I have bipolar disorder. When I was a kid in the 1970’s I was originally diagnosed with hyperactivity disorder. My mom had always called me her wind up car; she’d wind me up and I’d run around the house until I collapsed on the floor from exhaustion. I also had learning disabilities, manly in mathematics. I was the class clown and I still am, even though I’m now 46.
I have a wonderful girlfriend of the last 8 months. She has mental illness too. I used to smoke pot and drink alcohol all the time but as of 4 years ago I don’t anymore. I am a disciple of religion; I tend to be more Christian but I’m a follower of all religions, which has helped. I am a people person, and I work with two companies that work with people with developmental disabilities. I also have a job with an environmental activist organization in the state that I live in.
