You are not alone. Mental illness is REAL. It’s something that I have to fight every day. I have made 2 attempts on my life within the past 12 years. Once was 12 years ago, the second was just recently-only 2 months ago.
There is still such an ugly stigma in our society about mental illness. The judgments are disrespectful, pervasive, and worst of all, mean-spirited. Some of my family members don’t believe in “depression”. Well, they have not been “blessed” with what I have. I am lucky and happy to say that I have positive, loving and supportive friends. I know that I want my life to mean something so that I can uplift another’s soul and possibly save their life. Also, I’m having a very difficult time finding a caring and compassionate psychiatrist and therapist but I still have hope that they are out there.
My friends who suffer from mental illness, you are not alone. Keep believing you are a good person and deserve to be here on planet Earth.
