I have been through the system…had great highs and terrible lows. Now, life is great and I feel normal…no, not just normal, but blessed!
I was diagnosed at 16 with PTSD from specific incidents and longer term abuse by my alcoholic mother. In college this developed into BPD, and I suffered with self-injury, and was hospitalized the first time when I was 20. In the meantime, I was able to graduate an Ivy League College, held a great job for a while, lived on my own, and had a long-term boyfriend and many good friends.
