Our Journey Together

                                                                               The Journey

(inspired by Robert Frost and someone very important in my life)

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.

But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep.

I still suffer sometimes. I still want to hold myself up in my room.

Sometimes I want to give up on everything. But I don’t have time for that.

I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep.

Each of us comes to a fork in the road one day. Each of us has a choice even though it feels as if we don’t. We think we are taking the road less traveled, but realize it has been traveled by many. Many just like ourselves and together we walk the road to recovery. One journey, many crises, many happy endings. We cannot sleep for we have lives to lead, support to give, differences to make, and promises to keep. All of us are are alike in many ways only we understand. Together we  share an inexplicable bond unlike any other. Our separate journeys become part of each of us. We know empathy without judgement. We understand each other and we wish others would understand us in the same way. If we stay strong and believe in ourselves, understanding will happen. Our differences make us special. Embrace them. Love yourself, laugh and just enjoy life no matter the circumstance. I give such gratitude to all of you who have met me on my journey. What we do and who we are is incredible. Words cannot express the totality of it especially for me.  We meet on this journey and lead  each other in the direction we need to go even when we don’t believe. Together we see our worth and I thank you wholeheartedly.

I will always remember the important roles everyone plays in my story. When our paths meet again, tell me more of your story… I will listen. With your help I have come to another fork in the road. You have prepared me for these next steps in my journey, so now I must go.

For I have promises to keep.   And miles to go before I sleep.  And miles to go before I sleep…
