I didn’t know that my husband was mentally ill when I married him.  For 18 months all was very good.  One day he changed into someone I didn’t know: depressed, paranoid, controlling, mean and viewing me as his enemy or giving me the silent treatment.  My house was flooded during Harvey, his reaction was to file for divorce ? ? 

I am left to rebuild by myself with no support from him, I realize that he is not well mentally.  He has been out of work for some time, turned 70, had lots of stress, but why does he take it out on me ? I have always done everything to help him.

I need some support to try and understand why he has behaved this way.
