My family called TX police to help me for suicidal thoughts. I was depressed and thought that that was the best way to handle it. I changed my mind went back to my house and was stopped by a cop in my driveway. He said he got a report I needed help and I told him I was good and went to walk inside. He really felt the need to HELP me so he grabbed me and dislocated 2 of my fingers trying to stop me. From there he hit me 4 times in the face, Tasered me 2 times while my hands were in the air. I jumped up and away to pull the taser out and he took one last good hit and HELPED me to the concrete face first causing a 2 hour black out. I came fully to being booked in jail for an assault I never committed. Now over 2 years later I am still being charged with assault and never have actually received help. So lesson is if you want to help someone don’t call the police. Their definition of help is a little off kilter. Talk to people if you need help. More people than I ever thought have been in the position of wanting to hurt or kill themselves. All you have to do is talk, you will be amazed how many people are out there that have tried or thought about it. Makes me wonder why it’s not discussed more often in the public eye so people know they are not alone.
