Do Not Suffer Keep Speaking

I’m 48 and I have several severe mental Illnesses. PTSD, ADD, PERSONALITY BI POLAR DISORDER, ANXIETY, AND NIGHT TERRORS. I have 3 Children 2 Adult and 1 minor. My mental disorders started after my oldest child was born and progressed very fast.

I’ve had 4 attempted suicides, each resulting in hospitalization in psychiatric hospitals. I’ve had 3 case managers and my youngest child and I have been abandoned by everyone, including family, but you know its ok because at the end of the day, no one will stop my recovery, and believe me, people have tried but no when I’m knocked down. I pick myself up brush my self off and I’m stronger and more determined than the day before. Is it hard? Yes, but I will over come one day, I will keep sharing my story I will shout it from roof tops, because I see these mental disorders forming with my children and I have to be able to be not only a voice for me but for my children. I’ve been told I’m embarrassing to be around but I will not apologize for something, that is out of my control, I didn’t ask for this nor does anyone with mental disorders. Do not ever feel ashamed, please find someone to speak too, because the first step to recovery is to admit that yes I have a mental disorder then talk about it and keep talking. You may save a life and Not just Us as Adults but our children need to know its ok, It’s ok to tell. It’s ok to talk about mental illness it should not be shoved under the rug. No one should ever be singled out or categorized for these disorders. So teach, educate, most importantly listen to whom is speaking and I mean really really listen because its hard to talk about, and they have taken that first step to recovery. We need to Rally as a community and Educate Educate Educate!!! Everyone! Knowledge is Power! And Never be ashamed there is hope and you Are Not Alone. Remember you are Never Alone.
