My husband and I were driving through Georgia coming home from a P!nk concert. We noticed a Jaguar junk yard and stopped to explore since my hubby is a huge Jaguar fan. When I noticed this car the song “Junkyard” by Zac Brown Band came into my head. I can relate to it because of my bipolar disorder. I had to take pictures and photography is my therapy. Although song isn’t an exact narrative to what happens when you have bipolar disorder, I can connect. The song speaks about struggles as they define who we are. When get through the adversity, you come to a point of understanding and can be at peace with all the horrible things that have taken place. The first lyrics, “I have lived in a junkyard where the weeds eat up the rain” perfectly describes how I feel about depression. I prefer the version from “Pass the Jar” Zac Brown Band and Friends 2010.
