On the 1st of May, Forbes published a hit piece on a video game, whose development has been… questionable. That’s fine, there’s a lot to criticize there. The problem I have with the article, and Forbes, is that they dug up information about one of the employees mental health. I am so angry right now. The incident they are reporting on happened 12 years ago. I just can’t imagine. If someone attacked my wife like this, in a way that threatened her job, based on something that happened over a decade ago, I don’t know what I would do.
This shows a complete, systemic lack of morals within the Forbes company. This made it past an editor. It’s there job to catch stuff like this. So much progress can be made in 10 years. What’s the point if your entire life is condensed down to mistakes that keep coming back to haunt you. At least she has the security of knowing that her boss is deeply dedicated and in love with her. Not everybody has that level of security, and if this had happened to anyone else, they probably wouldn’t have the fortitude or resources to handle it.
Forbes owes her an apology, and their complete disregard for her dignity and privacy should be held against them as a mark of shame for the next twelve years.
