Privacy? **Trigger Warning**

I’m a mother now divorced.

I had suffered from abuse growing up and continued physical and emotional abuse from ex-spouse.  Prior to my divorce, I did seek help.  I regularly saw a therapist and a psychiatrist, took my prescribed medication, etc.  When going through divorce, the judge subpoenaed my records from both, and decided that I was unfit for the one child involved in that divorce due to my “mental illness”.  I have not seen my baby since the day before his 3 year birthday, (he is now 8).  There should be laws in place preventing this kind of action from courts regarding individuals who are getting the help they need.  I no longer am interested in seeking any kind of help as losing my child was so traumatic. I don’t have any faith in the system to protect individuals, such as myself, that try to better themselves.
