(Unprovoked) Cat Bite

Long S.Short,- We own a few rental properties these renters left w/0 notice, ruined the home, left Lg. Items. Among cats w/babies. I being animal lover saw one across road we knew was the mama, saved I it from being hit, got it food able to it pet. Picked her up one hand had food bin other my BF went to open a can of wet food cat got scared I moved right hand  I think she thought I was going to try & hold her down she but my L. Index finger so hard she bit the tendon on the palm side, and to the bone on my knuckle there were 3 bites total and a claw insertion on my palm. Underwent 2 surgeries, 1 a tendon release. I now have Osteomyelitis (bone infection) had midline now have a PICC line. I was hospitalized for 1 week, now have been on home IV antibiotics for. Month looking at 8 more weeks. I’m so scared to go outside, get my hand dirty, anything. Stitches out looking at months of physical therapy though. I own a cat I’m NOT getting rid of. I DO not wish ill on the cat that did this she was scared, I work in a hospital I just feel I should not feel like I do over a cat bite.
