Poem Called My Heart Aches
I want to share my poem to anyone that may feel a deep tension with an adult child with mental disability. It is so difficult to balance yes, I do want you to be with the family but no I cannot take your behavior.
My Heart Cries
My heart does cry, I know your heart does ache.
I want to tell affairs will be alright.
I grieve and fear so much this year for you.
You have not seen the tears I shed this night.
No words express, painful, restrained, uncertain
No call, disturb, mindset, belief today.
Implode so low, upset intense extreme
I strive to save myself because no way.
I had to let you know, tell it direct
Kindly stepping, skirting, sorting around
Limit obtained; unkind abuse infects.
Suffer, suffice, declare never back down.
Many prescribed each day, certainly understand.
It breaks my heart to see the meds you need
Journey, obliged I have but one request:
UNSTABLE conduct offends enough, I plead.
Cannot withstand during unstable distress
Get it together, your time running throughout
Cannot allow, assist, support downbeat
Mature action is what life is about.
Invite, request, delight, cuisine event
Dine with Nathan, Abby prepared myself
Thanksgiving insures, restores, improves our terms
Resents, disputes, unease away on shelf
Tough Love, breaks heart, Giver between Receiver
Acute, distress, cayenne, inflame swallow
Allow advise compel hereby report
My Heart Cries, concerns I hope yourself to follow.
