My Story

When I was very little, my parents often noted a few things that stuck out. I would sleep, but only just. I could go 4 days with no sleep and then sleep for 2 hours and go 4 more days. I was panicky and nervous over ridiculous things like being eaten by a wolf in my sleep, and snakes and rats living in the toilet. I didn’t want to be alone, and I had some unhealthy friendships, where I couldn’t stand up for myself. then when I was 7, I would have these violent attacks, I call “Rages” they would last hours and I would punch holes in walls and break furniture. during one Rage I attempted to throw myself out of a 2 story window. My parents were lost, our lives were controlled by these Rages. Then, when I was 10, one of my rages was so bad, they called the police. I was then admitted to the hospital for the first of five stays.I was diagnosed with Bipolar, sensory processing disorder, being on the Asperger’s spectrum, and just recently with EDNOS, for severe calorie restrictions and purging. I always felt so alone, and for years I lived a half life consisting off of 600 calorie days and hospital stays and medication changes. I am 17 now, and I still have a long way to go, but for the first time in well ever, I can see a life i want to live within my reach. It is a tough struggle, but remember, you are a survivor, not a victim. and you will get through this!
